On Friday, January 24th, The Wayne County CEO Class met with Mindy Isaacs, owner and operator of Mindy's Sew Shop in Fairfield. Students got a chance to hear how Mindy started as a seamstress in a bridal factory. When she started her family, she opted to put her career on hold to focus on being a stay at home mom. During that time she began doing small alterations out of her home and eventually out of her garage. As her business continued to grow, she realized she needed a better location their her garage in Mill Shoals and opted to move to Fairfield in order to expand her business. Shortly after a major renovation of her new location in the Dollar General Strip Mall, CoVid hit. Lucky for her, her work was considered an essential business and it was the requests for masks that kept her business afloat. She set up an assembly line in the shop with family members and she was selling out as quick as she was making masks. Over time Mindy realized the downtown Fairfield was attractive for her business and when she had the opportunity to move locations, she did. She is now located in the heart of downtown at the corner of Main Street and Route 45.

She offers many products and services beyond sewing and alterations. She offers screen printing as well as embroidery services. She keeps up with the all the trends via tik tok too!

Thank you Mindy for your time and sharing your story with the Wayne County CEO Class of 2024/2025.

Wayne County CEO is sponsored this year by Keys Real Estate.
